It is a pretty snake. It's the first one like that I've ever seen. I caught two of them in the basement of the house I'm living in while I go to school.
At first I thought it was a garter snake but after a little research it has been revealed as a juvenile rat snake. I think it's a black rat snake, could be a yellow rat snake as the juveniles are almost identical.
I'll be keeping an eye out this summer in hopes of seeing a full grown rat snake.
